Tips for Aluminum Can Recycling
- Rinse and Drain Cans – Rinse out each can before placing it in your curbside bin. Cans with residue in them could attract insects, which is something you do not want to do. Drain any extra water from the can by turning it upside down and letting it drip dry.
- Crush to Save Space – When you crush your cans, you’ll be able to fit twice as many in your curbside bin. Your efforts can pay off even more if you are collecting them to take to a drop-off location.
- Don’t use Cans for Other Purposes – Using aluminum cans for other purposes causes contamination that can prevent them from being recycled.
